Plastic Surgeons Allan Parungao, MD, FACS, and Ricardo Izquierdo, MD, FACS, Moving Offices to Oak Brook, Ill., Minutes from Chicago
Board-certified plastic surgeons Allan Parungao, MD, FACS, and Ricardo Izquierdo, MD, FACS, are moving from Hinsdale, Ill. to a spacious new office suite in Oak Brook, Ill. just west of Chicago.
Oak Brook, IL, August 6, 2009—Plastic surgeons Allan Parungao, MD, FACS and Ricardo Izquierdo, MD, FACS, are moving their Chicago-area plastic surgery practice from Hinsdale, Ill. a few miles north to Oak Brook, Ill. Drs. Parungao and Izquierdo will also see patients in their new Naperville, Ill. offices, and Dr. Parungao will practice in Vernon Hills, Ill. at the Ritacca Laser Center as well.
“Our new Oak Brook location has an on-site, accredited, professionally staffed outpatient surgery center,” explains Dr. Parungao, author of A Woman's Guide to Cosmetic Breast Surgery and Body Contouring (Addicus Books, 2006). “We will offer limo service for patients and their families on the day of surgery.”
“We also have an on-site medical spa offering patients the latest in medical-grade skin care, laser technology and non-surgical facial enhancements,” says Dr. Parungao. “These lunchtime treatments include Botox as well as facial fillers such as Juvéderm and Radiesse. Our medical spa is staffed by clinical aestheticians and registered nurses.”
“The newly renovated office suite offers our patients privacy and comfort,” says Dr. Izquierdo. “We are conveniently located near Oak Brook Center shopping, dining and world-class hotel accommodations for our patients who travel from out of town. The Oak Brook offices are near I-88, and easily accessible from all over Chicagoland, and a short ride from O'Hare International Airport and Midway Airport.”
Dr. Parungao specializes in cosmetic facial cosmetic surgery, breast augmentation, liposuction, body contouring surgery and labiaplasty. He has also volunteered to perform facial reconstructive surgery through the FACE TO FACE Program Veterans Initiative sponsored by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
“This program helps wounded military men and women who need reconstructive surgery of the head and neck,” Dr. Parungao explains. “Some of my patients' husbands are serving in the military. I've always wanted to give back to our country—especially now, when our military forces are working so hard. When they do their job, we as plastic surgeons can do our job.”
“My parents came to the U.S. from the Philippines with only two suitcases,” says Dr. Parungao. “They both became physicians and have always talked about how lucky they were to come to the U.S. and do so well. Hearing that for many years growing up has always made me feel patriotic toward America.”
For more than 20 years, Dr. Izquierdo has specialized in cosmetic plastic surgery. “I do about one-third facial surgery, one-third cosmetic breast procedures—breast augmentation and breast lift—and one-third body contouring procedures such as tummy tucks and liposuction,” he explains. “I also perform reconstructive surgery such as breast reconstruction, breast reduction and skin cancer surgery.”
Like Dr. Parungao, Dr. Izquierdo has an interest in giving back to the community. For many years, he was the program chairman for Wellness House in Hinsdale, Ill., an organization that provides psycho-social support to cancer patients. “I've been very involved in that organization,” he says.
“Dr. Parungao and I have almost grown up in parallel lives,” says Dr. Izquierdo. “I came to the U.S. from Cuba when I was six years old and, like Dr. Parungao's parents, my parents had to start over. They lost everything when they left Cuba. Dr. Parungao and I both grew up in small towns in Illinois. My father was a general surgeon—he's retired now—and I learned growing up what it is to work hard and go forward.”
