What is Cool Lipo?

Rashe, a 31-year-old athlete who follows a rigorous diet and exercise program, recently had Cool Lipo to sculpt his upper and lower abs, sides and lower back.
“I was pushing myself to the limits of endurance, doing everything I was supposed to do, but I wasn't getting the results I wanted,” Rashe explains. “I still had pockets of fat that weren’t coming off. That’s what prompted me to take the next step and consider lipo.”
“If you’ve done the work to get six-pack abs, your muscle definition won't show if it's hidden behind a layer of fat just under the skin—known medically as subcutaneous fat,” Dr. Parungao explains.

As an amateur boxer, Rashe cross-trains six days a week; his regimen includes free weights, exercise and running. “My life revolves around this,” he explains, adding “I'd done the work, but the results weren't showing through.”

Liposuction: Most popular men's procedure
Just-released statistics from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery show that liposuction is the most popular plastic surgery procedure for U.S. men—and the second-most-popular procedure for women. A total of 341,144 liposuction procedures were performed in 2008.
“The FDA approved liposuction for use in aesthetic body contouring in 1989,” says Dr. Parungao. “Over the last 20 years, many advances in liposuction technology and techniques have allowed us to offer patients safer procedures with better outcomes. Cool Lipo is one of the latest of these improvements.”
