Like many women in their mid-40s, “Jessie” was troubled by two figure problems—a thickening waistline and deflated buttocks.
“I had some volume in my buttocks, but it was in the lower half,” she recalls. “The area I wanted curvy was gone. I had fat in my love handles and back area—but it was in the wrong place.
“I wanted augmentation in my buttocks so badly that I started doing online research,” says Jessie. “That's when I learned about ‘Brazilian butt augmentation’ and found Dr. Parungao.”
If you've ever wished you could take the fat from your tummy and the “muffin top” area and transfer it to your derriere, you should know about butt augmentation.
What is butt augmentation?
“ Buttock augmentation—sometimes called a Brazilian butt lift or gluteal enhancement—is a surgical procedure that uses your own fat cells to round out the buttocks,” Dr. Parungao explains. “The clinical term for this procedure is lipoaugmentation of the buttocks.”
How is butt augmentation performed?
Butt augmentation is a two-step process:
- “We liposuction unwanted fat from the tummy and the love handles or ‘muffin top’—where many women have fat that is resistant to diet and exercise,” says Dr. Parungao.
- “We process the liposuctioned fat and inject it into the upper part of the buttocks to create more youthful curves,” he explains.
Why is butt augmentation becoming so popular?
“Women have been asking me about butt enhancement for several years now,” says Dr. Parungao. “As shapely celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé Knowles have become more popular, people are starting to notice the shape down there more.”
“I'm a Latin woman, and in my culture, having nice round buttocks is a big thing,” laughs Jessie. “If you don't have a round butt and nice big hips, you're not sexy.”
Jessie is thrilled with the results of her butt augmentation. “Now when I wear jeans, I'm admiring my curves,” she says. “It's nice!”
