Vibraderm: A gentler alternative to microdermabrasion for smoother, younger-looking skin

Do you have:

  • Large pores?
  • Fine lines and crow's feet?
  • Age spots?
  • Acne or acne scars?
  • Rosacea?

Would you like smoother, younger-looking skin—without the skin irritation of some treatments? Refine and refresh your complexion gently with Vibraderm.

What is Vibraderm?

Vibraderm is a safe, reliable skin care treatment that gently exfoliates the skin, stimulates natural collagen production and enhances absorption of anti-aging serums.

What's the difference between Vibraderm and traditional microdermabrasion?

Although both methods remove dead skin cells to reveal smoother skin, Vibraderm is much less abrasive than microdermabrasion. This is why Vibraderm can be used to treat patients with acne or rosacea—unlike traditional microdermabrasion.

How can Vibraderm help patients with rosacea?

People with rosacea need exfoliation, but traditional microdermabrasion is too irritating for skin affected by rosacea.

If you have rosacea, you need to smooth away dead skin cells, but you don't want to irritate the pronounced redness caused by distended capillaries.

How can Vibraderm help acne patients?

Unlike traditional microdermabrasion, Vibraderm can help loosen blackheads without spreading bacteria on the skin. However, Vibraderm should not be used directly on whiteheads.

How does Vibraderm work?

Vibraderm uses a paddle with a textured surface. As the paddle moves over the skin, it gently exfoliates the stratum corneum, or top layer of skin containing dead skin cells. In addition to smoothing the skin, Vibraderm helps boost your skin's collagen production.

How does Vibraderm work in conjunction with skin care products?

By using the other side of the paddle—which has a texture like bubble wrap—Vibraderm can help infuse skin care products five times deeper into the dermis layer of the skin. The deeper the products penetrate, the more effective they are.

What kinds of skin care products are used with Vibraderm?

A variety of serums can treat conditions such as hyperpigmentation (dark spots on the skin) and offer anti-aging benefits.

How will I feel after a Vibraderm treatment vs. a microdermabrasion treatment?

After a Vibraderm treatment, your skin will feel as soft and smooth as after a microdermabrasion session, and your skin tone will be healthy and bright.

The difference is that after a microdermabrasion treatment, your face may be a little bit red and irritated; you won't get that effect with Vibraderm. So Vibraderm gives you the same benefits as microdermabrasion, but with less irritation.

How long does a Vibraderm treatment take?

A Vibraderm treatment takes 30 minutes to an hour—making this an ideal “lunchtime” procedure. No anesthetic is required. After your Vibraderm treatment, you can go right back to your normal activities.

How many Vibraderm treatments are usually needed?

The number of Vibraderm treatments you need will depend on the condition of your skin. Most patients need six to 12 treatments for optimum results. Normally, treatments are spaced two to three weeks apart.

Once you have achieved your desired results, you can maintain them easily with periodic Vibraderm treatments.

A facelift may lift and tighten Baby Boomers' aging skin, but it can't improve the condition of the skin itself. Board-certified plastic surgeon and author Allan Parungao, MD FACS, recommends improving the skin's texture and reversing sun damage and melasma with IPL photofacials, microdermabrasion and Tri-Luma(R) cream.
